What is a biorefinery?

A biorefinery works on the same principle as a traditional refinery: it turns a single raw material into as many valuable products as possible.

Here, sustainably grown corn doesn’t just become bioethanol. Processing also yields proteins, feed ingredients, biomethane, organic soil improver and many other valuable products.

This approach brings together:

  • Chemical industry
  • Biotechnology
  • Energy
  • Automation
  • Process control
  • Data-driven operations
  • Sustainability

One site. One system. A real industrial environment.

Work at the world’s most advanced biorefinery

One of the most exciting parts of an engineering career is seeing theory turn into real technology.

At Pannonia Bio, you’ll work in an environment where every day you’ll get hands-on with:

Large-scale industrial systems
Modern automation solutions
Energy efficiency projects
Biotechnological processes
Sustainability innovations
Complex engineering challenges
We believe the best professionals grow as active participants, not as observers.

That’s why we aim to offer internships where students can join real projects and make a real impact on our operations.

An international environment with a family-business mindset

Pannonia Bio is part of the Dublin-based ClonBio Group. The company is Irish and family-owned, and its products reach markets all over the world.

In practice, this means you’ll experience:

  • the professional opportunities of an international company

  • the stability of family ownership with a long-term outlook

  • the day-to-day reality of multinational collaboration

You’ll work alongside colleagues from different countries, disciplines and professional backgrounds, all working towards the same goal: building a sustainable future.

Closer than you think

~50 min

by car from south Budapest

Our Dunaföldvár plant is about a 50-minute drive from the southern edge of Budapest.

Many visitors are surprised by the site’s size, technological complexity and level of innovation. Most don’t expect to find a biorefinery of this scale and technological standard in Hungary.

Who is it for?

Primarily students studying in one of the following fields:

  • Chemical engineering
  • Bioengineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Mechatronics engineering
  • Energy engineering
  • Environmental engineering
  • Process engineering
  • Automation and control engineering
  • Industrial digitalisation and data analytics

But for us, the name of your degree isn’t what matters most.

We’re looking for talented students who are curious, love solving problems and are keen to put what they’ve learned into practice in a real industrial environment.

Stay in touch!

We’re building our talent community so we can be the first to let you know about:

  • summer internships

  • plant visits

  • professional events

  • university partnerships

  • new engineering and technical positions
