Dunaföldvár, May 15, 2025 – On Wednesday afternoon, shortly after 3:00 p.m. a fire broke out at the Pannonia Bio plant in Dunaföldvár.
During scheduled maintenance work, a subcontractor assigned to cut a pipe section was injured in the resulting fire.
The injured individual sustained burn injuries and was airlifted in stable condition to the hospital by rescue helicopter.
Pannonia Bio’s on-site fire brigade arrived immediately to the scene and extinguished the fire successfully within minutes, even before the arrival of the notified professional and volunteer firefighters.
The company has notified the competent supervisory authorities and suspended the activities taking place around the affected plant unit until the circumstances of the incident are investigated.
